Land Sea & Sky: Art by Lorraine Kinnear

Lorraine Kinnear is exhibiting a selection of her unique photographs on Westgate Galleria's Guest Wall in August 2021, alongside some colourful acrylic paintings, which are a new direction for her.

Lorraine has lived in Kent for the last 20 years and considers herself fortunate to live in this beautiful part of the country. Its coastline, abundance of natural woodland and amazing sunsets provide endless photographic opportunities. She is very much inspired by nature and Whitstable, the area she lives and works in.

Although nature is at the heart of Lorraine's photography, her approach and style are quite abstract. She likes to use various techniques to manipulate and enhance her photographic images, and enjoys the editing stage as it allows her creativity full rein. Lorraine's images often undergo a substantial transformation, yet they still retain the essence of her original photograph.

Land, Sea & Sky runs from 3rd August to 2nd September. Lorraine's work is available to buy. The opening hours are Mondays to Saturdays, 10am to 5pm. Entry is free. There are opportunities to meet with and talk to Lorraine during her exhibition, on Thursdays 5th and 26th of August.

Our monthly Guest Wall exhibitions take place alongside a diverse display of contemporary and traditional art and crafts, in a large retail gallery space, made by a large and growing group of Kent-based independent artists, makers and creatives.
