Rainbow Art: Paintings and Prints by Laurence Short

The aim of Laurence's art practice is to capture the wonder and the beauty of the creatures we are so lucky to share our planet with. This exhibition features animals painted in bright vibrant colours. His mantra is "put some happiness in your life, hang a rainbow on your wall".

Laurence calls his artwork Triptych Art. Always evolving, you can view his painting technique at three distances. Visit this exhibition to see this for yourself. Firstly, from afar you see the whole picture, in vivid colours. Secondly, move closer and you will notice the colours break into separate shapes. Finally, up close you will see individual patterns within the shapes. Three views in one piece; with Laurence's unique rainbow twist creating a riot of colour, and compassion for the animals depicted.

Laurence's exhibition takes place place alongside a display of contemporary original art by the Gallery's resident group of local artists. Paintings, photography, ceramics, jewellery, and wood sculptures are on show. Also available are prints, greetings cards and postcards.

Laurence will be present in the Gallery to meet with visitors and chat about his techniques and what inspires him (dates to be confirmed). All works will be available for sale. The Gallery opens Thursdays to Mondays, 11am to 5pm.
