Unlocked: our creative response to lockdown - postponed

Unlocked is a public exhibition of lockdown-inspired creative work made by people from Thanet and East Kent.

This event has been postponed until further notice.

This event has been rescheduled to 15th - 19th January 2021

Visitors will discover reflective, funny, moving, inspiring and celebratory pieces, which make use of a diverse array of traditional and non-traditional art forms - including paintings, drawings, photography, journals and writing, music and video, and pieces crafted from textiles, glass, ceramics, metal and wood - all displayed in a large and airy gallery space in Margate Old Town.

Work has been selected from over 100 submissions during a public open call for entries that was well supported by established artists and hobbyists; professional and amateur makers; community groups, and by people who have only recently discovered their inner creativity because of the lockdown and its impact on them, their family and their community.

Entry to this exhibition is free, some works will be on sale, and many of the creative contributors will be in the gallery to talk to visitors about their entries. Prizes will be awarded for the Visitors' Choice and the Selection Panel’s Best in Show. Covid-safe arrangements will apply throughout the exhibition, and in place of a Private View, which is sadly not permitted currently, the artists are planning to have two evening openings, on the Friday and the Tuesday (until 8pm).
