ArtistAnn Palmer
Thanet Seashores
This exhibition brings together some of Ann Palmer’s seashore paintings inspired by the coastal stretches of Thanet and the north Kent Coast.
Running over four long weekends in July, Ann's Guest Wall includes two large paintings from the beach in Botany Bay at low tide, with the shoreline exposing rock pools and broken chalk and the cliffs multiple layers of vibrant colours.
There are approximately two dozen other pieces on show. They express the excitement of the ebbing tide exposing seashells and sand with reflections of different blues in the sea and sky, and the steely blue of the channel at Ramsgate.
The exhibition is in our recently re-hung gallery in Margate’s Old Town, which is a few minutes walk from the seafront and Turner Contemporary,
All work is for sale, alongside a variety of works by her fellow gallery artists. These include photography, ceramics, acrylic and watercolour paintings and jewellery.
The gallery is open 11am to 4pm Friday to Sunday every week. It offers a covid-safe viewing, browsing and buying experience.
