Volunteer with us

Volunteers are an integral part of a Margate Made Makers’ Day event. On the day, they help us prepare and decorate the venue, help stallholders load and unload their wares, provide a friendly welcome to the visitors, provide access assistance to those who need it, steward the crowds, take photos, post on social media, and oversee the creative activities area.

We can’t pay our volunteers, but we do provide training and support, and insurance cover, refreshments on the day, and we can guarantee a lot of fun. It’s an opportunity to meet with other people and network and make friends, and to gain experience at working at public events that is useful for those wanting to develop their CV’s. It’s also a great shopping experience!

We also need help in advance of the events, with leafletting/postering across Thanet, and with designing our promotional materials (for print and social media).

We have a well-established brand and logo. Designers who have supported us on a pro-bono basis so far have enjoyed the experience of capturing in their signature style the Margate Harbour Arm theme that we have been using to date. Some have added the project to their portfolio and CV, others have used their design on other printed items that they’ve sold on the free-of-charge stall we provide for them on the day, and all have said that being associated with our event, which has a high profile in Thanet, has helped to raise their own profile and develop their customer base too.

If you are interested in supporting Margate Made by volunteering, or providing volunteers from your group, please contact us for a discussion and an application form.
