Fabric Painting (on a tote bag)

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Led by one of our resident team of makers, Pat Matthews. If you're a fan of Pat's popular hand-painted fabric tote bags and fancy trying the technique out for yourself, join this workshop. All materials are provided. No experience is necessary. Pat will guide you through her tips and techniques, and using templates if you're stuck for ideas for a design or lack confidence in your painting skills!.The methods you will learn can be applied to all sorts of fabrics and products as well as the tote bag you will take-away.

This is a three hour workshop. 10.30am to 1.30 pm, on Wednesday July 24th. £30.

This workshop is part of our subsidised Summer series of creative workshops. We are offering, for a limited period, with funded support by the wonderful community organisation Social Enterprise Kent (SEK), low cost opportunities to try out a range of art and crafts techniques. The sessions will take place in our downstairs workshop (access by stairs only, sorry), and in our new making corner upstairs (which is fully accessible). We will decide on the location for this workshop when we have final numbers so please let us know when you book what your access needs are.

Park for free nearby in the surrounding streets. Parking may be available outside but is short term and isn't free. We are very near Westgate train station and the bus stops too.

Pat runs art-in-the-bag from her home studio in Herne Bay, and has sold and worked with us since we first opened in 2019. She has demonstration reels on her Instagram and Facebook accounts if you would like to see more about what you will be doing in this workshop.
